Privacy Policy

This policy covers the website zerocrumbs.de. It is a purely static information page about the ZeroCrumbs app: it sets no cookies, embeds no analytics or advertising services, and loads no content from third-party servers. Fonts, images and stylesheets are served exclusively from this server. The German version is the legally binding one; this translation is provided for convenience.

1. Controller

There is no legal obligation to appoint a data protection officer.

2. Server log files

When you open this site, your browser transmits technically necessary data which the web server records in a log file:

• IP address of the requesting device
• date and time of the request
• name and path of the requested file, and the amount of data transferred
• the HTTP status code indicating whether the request succeeded
• the previously visited page, if your browser sends it (referrer)
• browser type and version, and the operating system used

The purpose is the technically sound operation of the site and the maintenance of system security, in particular defence against automated attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; my legitimate interest lies in secure and trouble-free operation. This data is not combined with other sources and is not evaluated for advertising purposes.

Retention: log files are rotated daily and automatically deleted after 14 days at the latest.

The site is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. The servers are located in Germany. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the provider.

3. Language selection

If you open the home page without specifying a language, the server evaluates the Accept-Language header sent by your browser once, in order to forward you to the German or English version. This information is neither stored nor analysed, and no cookie is set. You can override the choice at any time using the language switcher.

4. Contact by email

If you write to me, I process your email address and the information contained in your message solely in order to deal with your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a contract or its initiation. The data is deleted once your enquiry has been conclusively dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

5. Link to the App Store

This site links to the app's entry in the Apple App Store. The link is only called up when you click it – no data is transmitted to Apple beforehand. Once you click, you leave this site and the privacy policy of Apple Distribution International Ltd. applies. The ZeroCrumbs app itself has its own privacy policy, which is linked from its App Store entry.

6. Your rights

You have the following rights in relation to me:

• access to the personal data processed about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
• rectification of inaccurate, or completion of incomplete, data (Art. 16 GDPR)
• erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
• restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
• data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
• objection to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR)

An informal message to the email address above is sufficient to exercise these rights.

7. Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The competent authority is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia, Kavalleriestr. 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany.

8. No automated decision-making

No automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place on this site.
